My brother-in-law shared this whiskey with me during a beach trip. I’d never had or heard of it before, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The nose was sharp and had me a bit skeptical, but to my surprise, it was smooth and savory with notes of caramel and honey. It had a long finish that was a little on the sweet side. This is a bottle I’ll add to my liquor shelf at home.

My father purchased a bottle of this high quality scotch for Super Bowl XLVII. I tasted this along with my three brothers and it sure didn’t disappoint.

The best part of this scotch was the nose. It was absolutely perfect. Seriously, I spent more time smelling it than tasting it. The taste had great florals and spice with a good overall flavor and a finish that was smooth and long.

I purchased a bottle of The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 year in November 2012 and cracked it open on my daughter’s 10th birthday to enjoy with family. I found the nose to be a bit light but quite pleasant. The mouth feel was good with strong heat on the back of the throat. The flavor lacked smoke and peat but had Carmel characteristics.
